Peaceful Paws Fees

Quality of Life
Assessements

  • Assessment fee: $220

  • Your pet’s overall health, mobility and comfort levels are assessed. It makes such a difference just seeing pets in their comfort zone and what their daily lives look like. Seeing your home (eg steps, slippery floors etc) also helps me to recommend small changes that might improve their life immensely.

  • If they have a serious medical disease, this will also be discussed, including possible disease trajectory and risk factors.

  • Medication or script fees may incur an additional charge.

  • A travel surcharge may apply depending on location.

Euthanasia

The fee for euthanasia depends on the size of your pet, as larger pets will require more sedation and euthanasia medication.

A euthanasia can be preceded by a quality of life exam if you’re not sure about the euthanasia decision. But if the decision has already been made by your family and/or regular vet an additional exam is not needed.

Under 10 kg = $360

10 - 24 kg = $380

25 - 39kg = $400

40 -59kg = $420

over 60 = $450

My fees always includes using sedation and pain control as a first step. This is either via a tiny injection under the skin, or if they don’t like injections, an oral sedative liquid/gel hidden in food. This helps to ensure a calm and comfortable experience for them.

I’m comfortable with attending to aggressive pets; however, a surcharge will apply if:

  • additional oral medication for sedation is required. = To be discussed if required.

  • additional time is required to secure a safe situation = To be discussed if required.

You are not obliged to proceed with euthanasia after making your booking. However, if you change your mind during our appointment, we will revise the appointment to a Wellness Consultation ($150) or a Quality-of-Life exam ($220). The alternative appointment type will depend on the support provided and the time invested.

I can organise the whole cremation and keepsakes and take your pet there afterwards.
